Akron Zoo
Get up close and personal with some pretty amazing animals when you schedule your very own visit to the Akron Zoo. This wonderful attraction sits on 50 beautiful acres of land, just a short distance from the downtown Akron area. What a wonderful trip this would be to take with your whole entire family! You can see over 700 animals during your visit, and there is always something new and exciting going on that you are sure to remember for the rest of your life.
Some of the more popular animals to see at the Akron Zoo include the Sumatran tigers, snow leopards, Chinese alligators, Malayan sun bears and many others. Why not check out an exhibit where you find out all there is to know about the unique and beautiful Greater African flamingo? A good number of visitors to the zoo really like to visit the Galapagos Tortoise exhibit to see the fun, yet slow motion animal in action. You will not want to forget your camera, because this is the place to get some of the best animal pictures that you could ever imagine!
If you are going to be planning a trip to the Akron Zoo, the hours of operation are from 11:00AM until 4:00PM during the winder and 10:00AM until 5:00PM during the summer, every single day of the week for your convenience. Cost of admission is $8 for adults, $6.50 for senior citizens, and $5 for children ages 2 through 14 with children under 2 getting in for free. Admission prices are lowered a bit during operation in the winter months. Many of the people who come to visit the Akron Zoo also like to enjoy a little bit of browsing through the gift shop on the premises.
