Bongos Cuban Cafe
Bongos Cuban Cafe
Owned by the world reknowned musicians, Gloria and Emilio Estefan from the Miami Sound Machine, this fun venue is a perfect mix of Cuban cuisine and hot Havana attitude.
The Cuban culture is rich with spicy food and hot music and Bongos showcases both legacies nicely.
The pineapple is a traditional symbol of welcome. The Bongos Cuban Cafe uses the pineapple as their emblem (the giant pineapple on their sign is visible for miles in any direction) and this restaurant is well-known as wanting to make every single visitor feel welcome.
Since 2000, The Bongos Cuban Cafe has been serving lunch and dinner to millions of patrons that rave about not only the classically Cuban cuisine but the atmosphere that is pure hot Havana night. The ceviche, a classical fish stew that is made with tomatos, peppers, onions and fresh fish and lime is legendary. Interestingly, the fish is served uncooked as the lime does the "cooking".
This huge 16,000 square foot restaurant by day, disco by night has fast become a gathering spot for Miami's elite. In the past year, Bongos Cuban Cafe has hosted such events as the Billboard Music Awards after party and the Premio Lo Nuestro after party, star-gazing abounded at both events.
If you want to experience the real fun, come to the after hours party on Friday and Saturdays, where you can groove to the tasty Latin rhythms and be awed by their fascinating light show. Get there between 10:30PM and 11:00PM as by 11PM, large lines have formed outside Bongos and there will be quite a wait to get in otherwise.
