Capital Children's Museum
For many, many years, the Capital Children's Museum served not only as a tourist attraction in Washington DC, but it was also the primary educational center for children who will get the chance to learn through climbing, touching, tasting and using their imagination. The aim was to inspire the children, help them learn through the process of experiencing things, instead of merely reading about them on paper.
For many years, the Animation Station in this Children's Museum got the kids excited about how they could be their very own cartoon character. The bad news is that the museum was closed in 2004. The good news is that come 2013, there will be a brand new one located along the Potomac River at the National Harbor. It will be bigger, better, and certainly more exciting for the kids!
The said children's museum is a recognized cultural and educational institution serving kids, not only on site, but online as well. This is how dedicated the management and staff of the museum is...they are really on a mission to ignite vision in kids.
With the new, on-the-way National Children's Museum, there will be approximately 150,000 square-feet of explorable space for the kids designed by the renowned architect Cesar Pelli. The museum will focus on helping kids understand the earth, introducing the green concept to the kids and with the state-of-the-art facilities, kids will learn through the exhibits and programs about how they can have a hand in saving the planet.
With their partners and associates, we have reasons enough to believe that the bigger one in 2013 will inspire even more kids through education; what with all the state of the art facilities. Experts contend that this museum will attract more than half a million visitors locally and from many other parts of the world.
