The Miami Children's Museum was founded in 1983. It is located on Watson Island and opened its new building to the public on September 7, 2003. The Miami Children's Museum is a dynamic learning center that welcomes visitors of all ages to come and learn, imagine and create. The 56,500 square-foot facility is huge! It includes 12 galleries with each having a different learning theme. There are also classrooms, a parent/teacher resource center, a Kid Smart educational gift shop. Don't forget the 200-seat auditorium and the Subway restaurant. The Miami Children's museum offers hundreds of bilingual and interactive exhibits as well. There are programs and classes and learning materials that are related to the arts, culture, community and communication.
With all of this to offer you can see why the Miami Children's Museum is a must stop for any visitors coming to Miami. It is a must for citizens of Miami as well. This is a great example of how learning can be made fun and exciting for children and adults alike.
