Enjoy Historic Milton by Tour Bus
Ride a tour bus to see the historical sites of Milton, originally a ship building community. Milton has plenty of shops and galleries to visit, but just driving through the streets, visitors can view a number of beautiful Victorian and Colonial homes, included are five home of Governors.
After driving around Milton to see the beautiful restored home, direct your tour bus to the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge at 11978 Turkle Pond Road. Located on the shore of Delaware Bay, you'll have the chance to enjoy a stroll through the area a visit freshwater wetland and salt marshes that serve as a natural habitat for migratory birds. The refuge is made up of 10,000 acres with landscapes including woodlands, grasslands, ponds and a 7 mile long creek. This area serves over 267 species of birds as well as 35 species of reptiles and amphibians and 36 different mammals.
Load back up on the tour bus with the next stop being The Nature Conservancy Edward H. McCabe Preserve at 210 Union Street. The preserve is a place for visitors to observe a range of Delaware's ecosystems. Here you'll get a chance to see some of the 100 different bird species. If you need to stretch your legs, a three-mile hiking trail will let you enjoy the natural diversity of the 143 acre McCabe Preserve.
After a day outside, the next place to direct your tour bus is to the Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats, Delaware's first brewpub. This is a great place visit, relax, try one of their 18 styles of beer or more than a half-dozen kinds of hand-crafted spirits, and of course, a bite to eat.
