Exploring Amish Country
For any trip to Pennsylvania, you absolutely have to wander through what is known as Amish Country. This area all throughout Lancaster, Pennsylvania is filled with the wonderful lifestyle and culture of the "Plain People", otherwise known as the Amish. Visitors to the area are always quite delighted with the things that they can see and learn when they are in the area. You will have to make plans for yourself and your family so you too can see what the Amish Country is all about.
One of the first places that people head to when they begin their search to find out more about the Amish is at the Amish-Mennonite Information Center. This is a great place that is just loaded with all kinds of information regarding many of the local Amish attractions and more. You can even sit back and enjoy a program called "Who are the Amish?", an inside look at everything having to do with the Amish culture. If that is still not enough, you can also sign up for different tours of Lancaster County. Some of the great places that you can go during your tour include all of the lovely back country areas as well as a great number of Amish and Mennonite settlings. Children and adults alike enjoy getting an inside look at some of the interesting homes and farms of this unique group of people.
Take your time and enjoy all of the wonders that Amish Country has to offer. Visitors are also welcome to set up their very own buggy ride through the countryside. Some even find their way to the Amish Quilt Museum. You will feel as though you have traveled back to a much simpler time when you visit Amish Country.
