If you ever wanted to go just one place and visit a multitude of places, Exposition Park is the destination for you. Originally it was developed as a showground for agricultural affairs of the area. Eventually, it fell into an extreme state of disrepair and because State Land in the 1880s. The area became crime ridden and it caught the attention of William Bowen, who saw a good potential in the park beyond all the crime and riff-raff. The land was re-developed to be a grand park and reopened to the public in 1913.
The park is richly landscaped and the rose garden carries a jaw-dropping 16,000 donated rose bushes.
You can see Natural History Museum of L.A. County where the indiginous peoples and wildlife of the area of featured in exhibits throughout the Museum. Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are interesting destinations with rich histories of wins and losses. If your favorite team is in town, check out a game.
California Science Center is a place where hands on is encouraged. Numerous exhibits highlight scientific studies and other realms of science. There is something for everyone at this locale.
Aerospace Museum has a rich number of exhibits highlighting man's obsession with flight. Imax Theatre is always good for a show, you will feel like you're part of the show! California African-American Museum is an awesome stop, as it highlights the sacrifices and contributions by great African-Americans.
John F. Kenndey gave his acceptance speech for the 1960 Presidential elections in this park and numerous others have spoken here.
Exposition Park truly has history and venues for everyone.
