There is always something new and exciting going on at the Gibbes Museum of Art. With all of the changing exhibits as well as the permanent collection, you are sure to always have a new adventure whenever you walk through the doors. One of the more popular collections at the museum would have to be the collection of Japanese prints. Within this collection are catalogues as well as wooden printing blocks. These items were all donated by a Japanese print collector by the name of Motte Alston Read.
If you are planning a visit to the Museum, it is conveniently located at 135 Meeting Street. The hours that you may stop by are from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday and from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday. There are regular closings every Monday as well as all of the major national holidays. Cost of admission is only $7 for adults, $6 for students, military and senior citizens, and $4 for children.
