Museum Of Contemporary Photography
If you're looking for a place to visit in Chicago that all the tourists are not crowding up, but is an interesting venue, check out the Museum of Contemporary Photography.
Photography is intriguing, it freezes a moment in time and when you get collections of photos together, you can build an entire mood and that's exactly what this awesome facility has done.
The horrors of the Vietnam War are showcased via photographs, many as seen through the eyes of the children of Vietnam and what they remember of the era. Another Vietnam exhibition is done by Jeffrey A. Wolin with his exhibition titled: Inconvenient Stories which is an overview of the men and women who fought in Vietnam.
Best of all, the Museum of Contemporary Photograph is free and open to the public. The hours of operation are as follows:
Mon-Fri: 10am to 5pm
Thu: until 8pm
Sat: from 12 to 5pm
There are a number of traveling exhibitions, you can check with the information desk and find out if there will be an exhibition near your town. Additionally, the Museum's collections continue to grow through kind donations and there are a myriad of solo and group shows by artists throughout the year.
