This place is just loaded with some of the coolest exhibits and displays that you will ever find under one roof. The George Observatory is a great place to learn about everything that has to do with Space Science Education. You can go on simulate space missions, check out a cool meteorite exhibit with actual fragments of famous meteorites and so much more. There are three giant telescopes at the George Observatory for visitors to catch a glimpse of some of the breathtaking views of the night sky.
How about a stop over at the Insect Zoo within the Cockrell Butterfly Center? You will find a huge amount of different arthropods here. All together there are about 30 different species that include insects, myriopods, arachnids and more. Feast your eyes on a Greenbottle Blue Tarantula or a Giant Prickly Stick. This is one stop at the Museum of Natural Science that you are sure to never forget!
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is located at One Hermann Circle Drive in Hermann Park, just across the street from the Miller Outdoor Theater. Hours of operation vary depending on the exhibit you are wishing to see. The cost to get in also ranges in price depending on where you wish to go, either the exhibits, Butterfly Center, Planetarium or IMAX. However, all of the pricing is extremely reasonable ranging from as low as $1.50 and only going up to a maximum of $8.00. A trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science is not only fun for the whole entire family, but it is affordable as well.
