The Nevada Historical Society
When you are visiting the Reno area, did you know that there is a great place where you can go to learn all sorts of interesting and educational facts regarding the state of Nevada itself? All you have to do is make your way over to the Nevada Historical Society, located on 1650 North Virginia Street.
There are all sorts of wonderful and informative exhibits that you can check out when you visit the historical society. The Living on the Land exhibit talks about the many Native Americans who once lived on and worked this beautiful region. The Riches from the Earth exhibit talks all about the many minerals that have been found within the land of Nevada and how they have come to help with economic development through the years. Some of the other exhibits include Neon Nights, Passing Through and Federal Presence.
When you visit the Nevada Historical Society, you can also take a peek inside the great museum store. This area of the building is filled with all sorts of incredible books that talk all about the land and people of Nevada. You will also be able to find interesting cards, nice gifts and other publications. This is the perfect opportunity to find gifts and souvenirs for some of your friends or relatives that are back at home.
The hours that the Nevada Historical Society are open for a visit are from 10:00AM until 5:00PM Monday through Saturday in the galleries and from Noon until 4:00PM Tuesday through Saturday in the library.
