See the Macaulay Museum Of Dental History
If you are into all things dental, or if you are just looking for a unique place to
visit throughout your travels, you may want to schedule a stop by the
Macaulay Museum of Dental History. This wonderfully interesting museum is
located right next to the Waring Historical Library in beautiful Charleston,
South Carolina. You may want to bring the whole family by on this trip so
that you can view all of the different items on display in this specialty
attraction.
One will be truly amazed by the huge collection of dental instruments and
memorabilia that is found on display at the Macaulay Museum of Dental
History. This is a collection that got its start from a Columbia dentist named
Dr. Neil Macaulay. There is no end to the interesting information that can be
found when you are learning about the items on display. One of them is an
actual instrument that was made by Paul Revere himself for a man named Dr.
Josiah Flagg.
Among the other interesting items on display are a series of antique dental
chairs that span several decades. I can be a pretty unique experience to see
how the chairs from years ago compare to the chairs that we sit in at the
dentist today. There are also several items and instruments that date all the
way back to the Civil War era.
If you would like further information, you can contact the Waring Historical
Library by calling (843) 792-2288. Or if you would like, you may just stop by
the location at 175 Ashley Avenue in Charleston, South Carolina.
