South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium, Pierre
The South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium is a great place for a weekend adventure with the family, or as a place to visit on a vacation. The Discovery Center and Aquarium offers hours of hand-on entertainment for the young and old. You don't have to worry about the children touching the exhibits at the Center because the Discovery Center is designed for hand-on learning and fun.
The Discovery Center is home to over 60 hands-on exhibits focused on magnetism, electricity, physics, telecommunications and the life sciences. When you're done with these exhibits, the family can enter the "Body Bubble", or explore displays and exhibits about wild animals. If you're up to a larger challenge, try the "Take Apart Table" where you can dismantle appliances.
When you have made your way through the Discovery Center, head over to the Aquarium where you can see walleye, trout, gar and other Missouri River fish in the aquariums.
