South Franklin Street is a good place to stop when you rent a charter bus in Juneau. You will see the Alaskan Hotel as well as other buildings built in the 1920's and 1930's. The charter bus can take you 13 miles from Juneau to view the Mendenhall Glacier. This glacier goes for 12 miles and you can walk on nature trails along Mendenhall Lake. The Mendenhall Visitor Center has great exhibits, a theater and a bookstore.
