Located on a hillside above the Rhode Island Sound, the Newport Vineyard is just 10 minutes from Newport. Serving as a one stop hopping destination the Vineyards has become among the favorite locations for weddings, corporate functions and family events. Visitors at the Newport Vineyard can visit the art gallery or enjoy a meal at the Glass Onion Restaurant or the gourmet/bakery/delicatessen. A 1000 foot retail shop features wine accessories, clothing and gourmet foods has become a favorite place to visit after touring the vineyard and tasting selected wines.
The Newport Vineyard is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm with Sunday hours running from noon to 5 pm. Daily tours are given to the public at 1 pm and 3pm. If you are in a group of 10 or more and would like a tour, please call 401-848-5161 for more information and an appointment.
With the guided tours, visitors will travel through a course in the winemaking process, learn about wine appreciation and the vineyard history. The Newport Vineyard tour will begin outside if weather permits with a close-up tour of the vineyards where your guide will explain the growing and harvesting process of grapes. You’ll move onward, learning the winemaking process including an in-depth explanation of how wines area aged in oak barrels.
The Newport Vineyard is recognized for many quality products including The Sanctuary Chardonnay. This award-winning white wine has been recognized for its excellent taste and aroma that is only found in barrel-aged chardonnays.
