The next time you are visiting the San Antonio area, you should also schedule a trip to the King William Historic District. This is a wonderful educational experience that you will surely enjoy. The district sits on land that was once known to be farm land that had belonged to the Mission San Antonio de Valero, otherwise known to many as the Alamo.
Since that time, the area has been developed into a wonderful place that is full of some really gorgeous houses that are all shaded by breathtaking cypress trees and pecan trees. The 1950s brought a group of people to the King William Historic District that felt the area had loads of potential for restoration. The area has become very desirable to live in and has become protected as a historic district so that the public may enjoy it for years to come.
During your visit, you could stop by and see one of the wonderful museums in the area. What is known as the Guenther House is not only a museum, but it is a store and a restaurant as well. When you are finished looking around at the items in the museum, you can also grab a tasty bite to eat or shop around for the perfect souvenir or gift to reflect your visit to the King William Historic District.
