Visiting Old City
If you are going to be in the Knoxville, Tennessee area and you are looking for great places to go then you are in luck. There are lots of things to see and do when you visit Knoxville, and one of the coolest places has to be what is called Old City. This is a very old section of town that has been renovated and is now filled with lots of great shops and entertainment venues.
A great many people love to visit Old City because of the old and historic buildings that you will find. It is almost as if you are stepping back in to a completely different time and place. You can stop and eat at one of the many restaurants that are available or during the evening, you may be able to catch some decent, local blues, jazz or rock bands playing their hearts out.
One of the more popular places to visit when you are in Old City is called Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria. This is a really fun spot to go and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and a few cold beers. Grab yourself a few slices of their famous sourdough pizza and sit back to listen to a nice live band.
Some of the other cool spots that you can hit while in Old City are New City Cafe, The Pilot Light Club, Fiction Dance Club and the Old City Java Coffeehouse. One neat thing about this area is that you can grab a tasty cappuccino and walk around checking out all of the bands playing at the clubs and cafes. Old City is a great stop for anyone visiting this area of Tennessee.
