There is a little slice of beauty and history hidden in the midst of the San Antonio area. The Spanish Governor's Palace is a beautiful place that was built way back in 1722 that was built to protect the surrounding colony of the Alamo. The Spanish Governor's Palace is known to be the only remaining aristocratic early Spanish house in all of Texas.
The gorgeous Governor's Palace and all of its surroundings have been pleasing thousands of visitors throughout the years. The structure is truly amazing and so beautiful to look at. Many people love to take their time to walk around and enjoy every bit of the view. Pictures are being snapped left and right by all of the people who come to visit as well. After all, taking pictures of such a gorgeous place can make for memories that will last a lifetime.
If you get a chance to visit the Spanish Governor's Palace on the last Sunday of the month, you will be treated to a visit from the La Compania de Cacalleria del RealPresidio de Bexar. This is a group that stops by to exhibit the living history of old by wearing the uniforms of the military of days gone by. The time that they usually stop by are from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on that Sunday, so be sure to plan accordingly.
The Palace is located at 105 Military Plaza for your viewing. Hours that you may stop by for a visit are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Admission is extremely reasonable with rates only being $1.50 for adults, $.75 for children ages 7 through 13 and free for children under the age of 7.
