Lights of Liberty Show
Lights of Liberty Show
Watch the story of the American Revolution unfold right before your eyes. Through state of the art technology, as hand painted images are projected up to 50 feet onto the buildings where the events took place over 200 years ago. A stirring narration by Walter Cronkite, Charlton Heston, Whoopi Goldberg, and Ossie Davis. A moving musical tribute performed by music ans of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and effects by Skywalker Sound.
Visitors wear headsets with 3-D sound, immersing themselves in the American Revolution. In this multi-million dollar production you will see, feel, and live through history. Such special effects that add to the realism are swirling smoke and flashes from imaginary muskets, along with the sound of horses' hoofs on cobblestone streets.
There are five acts that will take the visitor through Independence National Historical Park, home of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Walking them to five different sites in the park as they witness and hear the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
This is a 60 minute show beginning and ending at the Liberty Center at Sixth and Chestnut streets, housed in the historic Public Ledger Building, where tickets are sold and headsets are given out.
Guests are given a show preview in the center, Liberty Leaders greet the visitors and take them back in time. They are led past the Liberty Bell and along a show route where full-color, five-story images are projected onto some of America's most historic buildings such as Independence Hall, Carpenter's Hall, the Second Bank of the United States and Franklin Court, the site where Benjamin Franklin's home once stood.
