New York Hall of Science
New York Hall of Science
Located in Queens, The New York Hall of Science is rated as one of the USA's best science museums.
This science center is home to over 400 exhibits which provide hands-on fun for everyone in your party.
There are several exhibits that are featured. One, for example, is the technology gallery. This allows visitors to get an online internet connection and tap into the world wide web while viewing the latest in computer technology and CD-ROM capabilities. This was the very first online connection ever available to the general public at a New York City Museum.
Another fascinating exhibit is called Hidden Kingdoms: The world of Microbes. In this exhibit visitors step through a twelve foot tall sewing needle eye to explore a huge collection of the world's smallest living creatures. Here you can view microorganisms like the ones that caused the AIDS virus.
The Realm of the Atom is a fascinating exhibit that allows people to examine how individual atoms behave in a 3D magnified model of an atom. This provides an innovative approach to explaining matter and how it works.
This science museum has a wonderful playground. This 30,000 square foot playground allows children to have full body participation in science. Here they can climb on a giant 3D spider web, play in a construction zone, slide down the giant slides, and frolic in the water play area. There are many things for children to enjoy in this exhibit. The playground costs $3 per person. This is open early spring until the end of December.
