The Cape May County Park and Zoo
The Cape May County Park and Zoo
This zoo is situated on 128 wooded acres, having 170 species of animals, and entertains more than 300,000 visitors annually. It is accredited by the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums.
The Reptile House is as popular here as it is in the Bronx Zoo, and the Monkey House is lots of fun. See birds flying around in the Aviary and then visit the Children's Zoo, where domestic animals can be fed and touched.
Considered one of the best full-system parks in the state, the Cape May County Park and Zoo offers plenty of recreational facilities such as playground areas, tennis and volleyball courts, baseball fields, nature, walking, jogging, and bike trails and fresh water fishing.
While many visitors go to the Park and Zoo to find something to do, just as many go to just relax and enjoy a leisurely walk, an outdoor concert or sit and think among the natural surroundings. A visit to the Park and Zoo is a pleasant alternative to the beaches. There are plenty of benches, shade trees, covered pavilions, picnic tables, open-pit barbecues and clean rest rooms available for family outings.
Come see the playful otters, tigers, bobcats, reindeer, zebra, goats and bears. Be sure to stop and say "Hi" to our old friends, Brutus and Tinkerbell the Cougars, Matilda and Dundee the Wallabies, Jerome the Giraffe, Charlie the Camel, Fernando the Llama, and the rest of our friends in the Reptile House, Monkey House and Aviary. Make our friends, your friends. Plan to spend a day amid the peaceful surroundings of Cape May County Park and Zoo.
