Since this is such a huge area, when concerts and shows come to town, usually the Theater at Madison Square Garden is used. This is used for family sit-coms, share holder meetings and various award ceremonies and graduations. It holds a mere 5600 seats. The large arena is better suited for Ice Capades, sporting events, and circuses.
Since the garden hosts many different acts and sporting events through out the year, one must check the calendar to see what is happening when they are coming to town. You can purchase tickets through ticket master or at the box office. The box office hours are 9:00-1 hour after event starts on Monday-Friday. On nonevent days 9:00-6:00 PM. Saturdays 10:00 AM-1 hour after event starts and 10:00AM-6:00PM on nonevent days. On Sundays, the ticket office is open at noon-1 hour after event begins and closed on nonevent days. Some of the upcoming events include big named acts such as Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney.
