This historic strip of road has been immortalized in song and film and almost everyone in the world has heard of it.
The Sunset Strip is only two miles long but it has a rich and varied history. Hollywood Glamor of the 1930s and 40s brought the people images of movie stars with their well-dressed men, riding in limousines up and down the sunset trip attending bars and bashes and living the good life. The nightclubs themselves that bordered this street are legendary on their own: Ciro's, the Trocadero or the Mocombo.
The television series "77 Sunset Strip", furthered the flash reputation of the area and while the glamorous days of Hollywood have long passed, Sunset Strip is still there, intriguing generation after generation of locals and visitors alike.
The Strip begins on the east with the Chateau Marmont Hotel. This hotel had to very infamous guests. One Mr. Jim Morrison created a ruckus here back in 1969 and this was also the place that John Belushi died by a drug overdose. Today, the Marmont is a popular place for up and coming, hip talent to hang out, sip a drink, give the occasional interview, and numerous photo shoots are made here at the Marmont.
The House of Blue is another fun stop on the Sunset Strip. Always a popular hang out, this venue always has a great show planned. Other great venues for live music on the Sunset Strip are The Viper Room and The Roxy.
There are numerous restraurants and other venues to stop at. There is more fun than meets the eye in this two mile strip of fun.
