This darkly, minimalist styled bar has a huge range of bands that play here and the occasional star sighting. This bar is partly owned by one Mr. Johnny Depp, and it's not unusual for known acts such as Tom Petty or Counting Crows to show up and play an entire set of shows under some fictitious surname. Some celebrities are quiet members of bands, Keanu Reeves for one, has played numerous times with his band at the Viper Room.
Everyone from famous faces to interesting and talented unknowns play the Viper Room and you never know from one night to the next what you're going to get. Even if you think you know, you still may be treated to a band filled with members you know and love playing under assumed names for the night.
There is usually a line outside waiting to get in the Viper Room, show up early if you want to be sure you're going to get in the door. The bar is fully stocked and the happy hours are well known as some of the best in this area. The staff is known to be friendly, although the bouncers are known to be tough to anyone that seriously gets out of line.
The cover varies by the event, but normally it is in the range of $10US per person to get in the door.
