Lederman Science Center
Lederman Science Center
The Lederman Science Center was born out of one man's vision for creating a fun place for children to learn about Science and Physics knowing that young children are virtual sponges and enjoy learning new skills and information.
The Lederman Science Center showcases Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology. There is something for all children to enjoy here, even if they think they won't like it.
They will be impressed to learn that they have been practicing physics since they were wee little babies by learning to walk upright and get milk out of a bottle. They will learn how to apply science in their everyday lives and probably come out of this visit with a new appreciation of science.
There is an awesome array of programs available such as Accelerator Physics where your kids can get on the fast track to learning and understanding physics, Ask-a-Scientist is just that, ask your questions, and learn! Cryogenic Show is a neat overview of what happens in the science of Cryogenics (freezing liquid nitrogen demonstrations). From Beneath the Ashes is another fun exploratory program your kids will enjoy. There are dozens of small classes on-going throughout the year for your kids to participate in and at the end of your visit to this extraordinary venue, there is a gift shop to pick up a few mementos of your visit.
The Science Center is open 7 days a weeks from 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 12pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Bring your family by this awesome venue on your next visit to the Chicago area, you might just learn something along with all the fun!
