The Arvada Center For Arts and Humanities is a performing arts center with plays, concerts, demonstrations, classes, a banquet hall and art galleries. They seem to have it all! There's even an historical museum with pioneer and old cabin artifacts.
The theater productions are spectacular musicals, laugh-out-loud comedies and of course captivating dramas. All of these are offered in a wide variety of subjects and theater styles. For example, one of their shows is Aida, and another, the Full Monty! At the children's theater, their productions include Curious George and Lava and Bones just to name a couple. They even feature a production which is usually an original script that has been commissioned by the center itself.
The center offers classes for students of all ages each year. Classes include the following subjects: dance, music, photography, yoga, performing arts, ceramics, visual arts and the humanities. One is upstairs and one is downstairs right across from the box office. Each feature about 12 to 15 exhibitions annually and usually focus on contemporary art from international, national and local artists. The center also hosts special events like the annual art market show and sale. Featuring Colorado artists with "the best original artwork and contemporary crafts Colorado has to offer." There you can see unique jewelry, paintings, furniture, ceramics, textiles and more. All the proceeds from this art show and sale support Colorado artists and benefit the programs held at the Arvada Center.
