I/O - Miami Sound Miami Style
Next time you're looking for a place to play in Miami, make the I/O Lounge a definite stop. This hot club has 3 huge areas. There is a large bar just as you walk in the front door and the main room where there is usually a live band playing and if the weather is nice, settle back and enjoy the music under the stars out on the patio.
The cover usually runs $5-$10 and that covers most live acts, even the larger names that choose to play this venue. The vibe is definitely funky and there are a lot of eclectic and artsy types that hang out here, the people watching is rumored to be as good as the drinks!
The bar area where you can quench your thirst will usually have Japanese anime playing. Nearby there is a huge dance area where live music will be thumping away and the best dancers will be singling each other out to serve up their best dance floor moves.
The outdoor bar area is a mellow place to unwind after getting your groove on out on the dance floor and if you can work your schedule, try to visit on a Thursday night when it's a heavy Latin flavored Fuacata!
Saturday night is also a great night to make a stop by as they play old school New Wave and the die hard New Wavers straight out of the 1980s show up.
The drink menu is impressive and there is a good number of beers available both in bottles and on tap. No slackers with the microbrews either, they have a great selection available of some local brews. If you get hungry you can munch on tapas (Spanish appetizers) and enjoy the music of the night. This is a great place to cut loose and enjoy the Miami sound!
