Laundry Bar
Laundry Bar
The Laundry Bar is one of the new trend of functional bars. You can really do your laundry, order up some drinks and make some new friends all in one place.
The Laundry Bar is located on Lincoln Lane in South Beach. Metered parking is available at the Meridian and Lincoln Lane parking lot, one block south of 17th street, for a rate of $1 per hour. There is no valet parking.
When you walk in the Laundry Bar, there are rows of washing machines and dryers in the back and the bar is in the front. This is a venue most definitely off the beaten track and you aren't likely to run into the likes of Paris Hilton, but you are assured of a very good time.
The decor is decidedly neo-industrial with a high-tech feel. If you didn't bring any laundry to do and you want to have a drink and a little activity, there are complimentary hors d'oeuvres to munch on while you play billiards and video games. If you can't stand to be away from your computer or you want to IM your friends and tell them where you are at, computer terminals for internet access provide one of the many ways to hook-up at the Laundry Bar.
Also, you might be lucky enough to take in one of the cabaret performances by local artists such as Maryel Epps and Bambi and the Boys highlight the hours after midnight, and Sunday's are Flip Night where you get to flip your bartender for drinks.
If you're looking for an unusual place to party, definitely make the Laundry Bar a stop along your next tour of Miami, you'll be glad you did!
