This is the longest running music television show. Artists from Willie Nelson to Stevie Ray Vaughn to Sheryl Crow have graced the stage at Austin City Limits, giving an intimate one-on-one performance that you won't see anywhere else.
You can see a live show taped of Austin City Limits, but you have to do a little planning to get in. You just need to call the television station (KLRU) hot line at (512) 475-9077.
You will hear a recorded message that will tell you the upcoming schedule of artists, taping dates, and time. You will also be given a radio station to tune in to for the ticket distribution announcement. About a day or so before the taping of the Austin City Limits episode, the radio station will make the announcement stating the location of the ticket giveaway. When you hear the announcement, go immediately to the location of the distribution to pick up a pair. Tickets go quickly - literally within minutes of the announcement. Tickets can not be held and are distributed in pairs only, on a first come, first served basis.

The sessions usually last for a few hours so be prepared to spend at least an afternoon at the studio which is located at the KLRU studios on the University of Texas main campus. The taping is mainly done in the Spring and early Summer months, however the Austin City Limits will accommodate an artist's touring schedule and if they happen to coming through Austin in the Fall or Winter months, a special taping can be arranged.
