The Hermitage, Nashville
The Hermitage is a well-known downtown Nashville landmark that is just across the street from Tennessee's State Capitol. It is one of the few examples of the beaux arts architectural style that is still standing.
The Hermitage was originally built in 1909 and has hosted five U.S. presidents as well as other notables including Al Jolson, Jack Dempsey, Gene Autry and Billy Graham. Totally restored in 1981 to become an elegant all-suite hotel. From the exquisite marble lobby, accented by brass fittings and oriental carpets, to the ballroom which was constructed with an intricately carved Russian walnut ceiling the decor and atmosphere of the Hermitage is breathtaking.
Many of the furnishings in the Hermitage are original and throw-backs to the turn of last century. Nearly 100-years of history has passed by the walls of this fine old Hotel.
There are three types of suites. Each is decorated in the styles of traditional American, contemporary American or oriental styles. The dining room is well known as a great place to enjoy a leisurely and elegant meal. The continental cuisine features such delicacies as Tournedos Biarritz and Fettucine Carolina. There is also live entertainment featured nightly while you dine.
Small pets are allowed at the Hermitage and pet accomodations are available.
