hen you are in the Nashville, Tennessee area you should stop by and visit the Parthenon in Centennial Park. This is an actual replica of the original Parthenon that you would find in Athens, Greece. It was built way back in 1897 for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition and stands today as an art museum.
A trip to the Parthenon in Nashville is perfect for the whole family, because children and adults alike love to look at the fine structure. Many people especially like to go and see the 42-foot tall statue of Athena that sits at the Parthenon as well. It is quite amazing to see these two structures that are actual full-scale designs of the originals that you would find in Greece.
Be sure that you bring your camera along with plenty of film to take pictures of the stunning view of the building. However, pictures are not allowed to be taken inside of the art galleries. There are no scheduled tours offered of the Parthenon or the art galleries, but there are brochures available to help guide your way. Often times, you will be able to find a volunteer guide on hand as well to answer any questions that you may have.
The admission prices for the Parthenon are $4.00 for adults, $2.50 for seniors, $2.50 for children ages 4 through 17 and free for children under the age of 4. Hours that you may stop by for a visit are from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. If you are planning on a visit during the summer months, there are extended hours on Sundays from 12:30 pm until 4:30 pm.
