Seeing The Texas Transportation Museum
For several decades now, families have been enjoying the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio. The Texas Transportation was opened way back in 1964 after being built by volunteers in the local area. This is the perfect place to visit with your family for a fun and educational time when you are in Texas.
While you are at the museum, you can learn about everything that has to do with all different kinds of trains. You will also find interesting information on streetcars, automobiles, trucks and horse carriages. This can be a great family attraction to visit, especially if you have a child that is interested in the different aspects of the transportation industry.
When you visit the Texas Transportation Museum, your entire family can even enjoy a train ride or a fire truck ride. Kids just love taking a ride around on either of these! Admission to the museum includes the rides when they are available. Cost for adults is only $5 and children under 12 are only $3. The museum even offers a family special for $15 that covers 2 adults and up to 5 children. Of course, parking there is convenient and always free.
The Texas Transportation Museum is located at 11731 Wetmore Road in San Antonio. The museum is open only three days out of the week on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Hours of operation on Saturdays and Sundays are from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Thursdays from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The only time that the museum closes on any of these days would be on a major national holiday.
