Approximately 2.5 million people visit The Alamo every single year. There is a lot to see and do at this famous San Antonio location, perfect for the whole family.
The Alamo is a wonderful learning experience for all. When you visit, you can learn all about the siege of the Alamo that happened nearly two centuries ago. You will have a chance to see many artifacts from the heroes who were involved in the Alamo battle. You can see flags, knives, clothing and much more. All of these articles can be found in the old church entrance to the Alamo, where one of the more fierce points of the battle took place.
There is also a lovely outdoor exhibit for visitors to enjoy as well called the Wall of History. This exhibit is located near the beautiful Alamo Gardens. A lovely place to stop, relax and take pictures, the Alamo gardens is just full of some really gorgeous flowers and a perfectly groomed lawn. Then you can head off to the Gift Museum to pick a couple of souvenirs or items for people back home.
Hours that you may stop by for your visit to The Alamo are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am until 5:30 pm. The only closings are usually on Christmas Eve and Christmas day every year. Admission to The Alamo is always free to the public making it an affordable excursion for everyone.
