B.B. King's Blues Club of Memphis
Unless you've been trapped on a desert island for the past couple of decades, you know who B.B. King is. What you may not know, is that the legendary bluesman has opened up a string of clubs across the USA that cater to the people that love good food and good music.
One of the main munchies at the B.B. King Club are the legendary fried pickle chips that you can munch on while listening to some of the soulful sounds going down in his club.
The Memphis Blues Club features Ms. Ruby Wilson as a regular feature and she has an amazing voice. If you're going to be in Memphis, be sure to catch at least one show with Ruby in it. Another great attraction at the club is Larry Springfield who can get the house rockin' with his own brand of blues.
There is a full menu of appetizers, entrees and great desserts and if you want to follow in the footsteps of Duke Ellington and order dessert first (he always ordered dessert first in case he didn't have room at the end of a meal) at this club no one will mind.
The staff has a reputation for being friendly and accommodating and if you're in the mood for a little libation, the bars are fully loaded with your favorite beers cold on tap as well as a very nice selection of both imports and domestics in bottles.
If mixed drinks are your thing - you'll find plenty of those here too, along with a nice martini list.
If you're looking for a real blues club to visit on your next excursion into Memphis, pencil in a trip to the B.B. King's Blues Club - and you'll be guaranteed a soulfully good time!
