So, you've seen the historic sites and the regular tourist stops in this fair City, now how about something for the kids? Check out the Children's Museum of Memphis.
Admission is as follows:
Children* (Ages 1-12) $6 ;Children* under 1 are admitted free.
Senior Citizens (62+) $6 ;Adults $7
If you happen to be in a tour group, you will be pleased to know that groups of 10 or more people receive a special rate of $3.50 per person with advance reservations. A 1:5 ratio of adults to children is required of groups in order to get the discount. Hours of operation for the Children's Museum are Tuesday-Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM ;Sunday, 12-5 PM. Closed Mondays and Some Holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Easter Sunday and Memorial Day.
Exhibits your kids will get to see and participate in include Art Smart where they are invited to learn about various types of art in a hands on environment. The Bank exhibit lets your kids pretend-play they are running a bank and all the responsibilities that come with it. CityFriends is a hands on learning experience for your kids that lets them try on a myriad of jobs that run a city including banker, store owner and mayor.
Growing Healthy is an interactive excursion through a growing body that allows kids to see how good diet and nutrition is important to a growing body. Playscape Park is a great way for your kids to work off some energy. Also, check out Recycle Factory where you kids can learn the how's and why's of recycling.
