The Confederate Museum
Of all of the wonderful places to visit in the Charleston, South Carolina area, the Confederate Museum is one that you do not want to miss. This is a truly unique learning experience that can be enjoyed by everyone in your family or group. This museum collection of all kinds of Confederate artifacts is actually considered to be one of the best in the entire world. There is no limit to the types of interesting things that you can find during your visit to this place.
There is an Original Secession Flag on display that many people like to stand back and take photographs of. You will also find many different actual Confederate Uniforms from both enlisted and commissioned officers. There is also an interesting set of camp equipment that includes officer chests, a general's mess kit, chairs, knap sacks, blankets and even a unique candelabra that is actually made of bayonets.
The hours that you may stop by to check out the Confederate Museum are 11:00 am until 3:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. There are closings on Sundays and Mondays along with all of the major national holidays. The museum itself is located at 188 Meeting Street at the corner of both Meeting and Market Streets in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina.
