The Woodruff-Fontaine House of Memphis
Amid the sweet perfume of the old magnolia trees, the Woodruff-Fontaine House stands as a reminder of times past. At the time this home was built in the 1870s this French-Victorian style mansion was a star in the area then known as "Millionaire's Row".
This mansion which was the home to two very prominent Memphis families was gifted to the City of Memphis in 1936 and was vacant for many years. In 1962, The Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities rescued the house which was in a great state of disrepair at this point and restored it to its former splendor.
The house was restored, many original pieces remain and other period pieces were acquired to give the house such an authentic feel, you'll swear you've stepped back in time.
