The Sandcastle Waterpark Isn't Just For Kids
The Sandcastle Waterpark offers as much fun and entertainment for adults as well as kids. Located on the Monongehela River 12 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, the Sandcastle Waterpark offer the world's largest hot tub, wading pools and a stream for inner tubing.
If you're interested in more excitement, try out the fourteen water slides with a mixture of turning, plunging, twisting and churning. Sandcastle Waterpark's newest attraction is the Blue Tubaluba slides. Two 450-foot long rides take riders through waterfalls, total darkness and other water excitement before the riders land in a 4-foot deep pool. Other attractions include Thunder Run, Boardwalk Blaster, Mon Tsunami, Tubers Tower, and the major exiting Lightning Express. Sandcastle Waterpark's Lightning Express slides are designed for speed with the tower standing 60 feet high and the chutes running for 250 feet.
After a day of entertainment on the slides, adults can enjoy an evening at The Sandbar, Sandcastle's nightclub for those 21 years of age and older. Sandcastle's Waterpark Sandbar is open on Friday and Saturday evenings with entertainment varying from a live DJ, live entertainment, radio broadcasts, beer specials and a buffet. Admission varies dependent on the time of entering the Sandbar and valid photo identification is required.
Take time to relax while shopping the gift shops playing in the arcade. A food court offers a solution to lunch. When you need an additional break from the water, take a cruise on the Formula One Speedway.
