Tourists and New York City: The Advantages of a Tour Bus
New York City, one of the most beautiful and busiest cities of all time! It has many places to see and visit, activities to do, great food to eat, and many stores to SHOP at. New York is an eclectic state with friendly people, neighborhoods, and communities. There are so many sites to see, whether they are historical or just for entertainment. By the end of this essay anyone who reads this will be so amazed by what New York has to offer and will also realize that touring New York on a bus is much better than any other source of transportation. In addition to touring New York’s many neighborhoods, I am going to describe the most popular attractions that are located in New York City that are definitely worth seeing.
I want to start off with the wonderful Statue of Liberty because it is an icon for democracy. Lady Liberty held up her torch to welcome immigrants to America over a century ago. Today, you can climb 354 steps, or 22 stories, to her crown and in a way feel like you are inside her head! I know this sounds like a lot of stairs to climb, but you can also take an elevator, which may be a longer line to wait in because most people would want to take the elevator instead of enjoy the detailed walk. This vantage point offers excellent views of New York Harbor and the Manhattan Skyline. NICE Ellis Island was the gateway through which more than 12 million immigrants passed between 1892 and 1954 in their search for freedom of speech and religion, as well as economic opportunity in the United States. Ellis Island has much more historical meaning and background behind it, so if you want to know more which you should, you need to visit the museum.
Another amazing tourist site is Times Square. New Yorkers call this intersection of Broadway and 42nd Street the “Crossroads of the World.” It is the most recognized intersection on earth, especially on New Years Eve. Many people believe that Times Square is the best place to visit in New York, particularly at night because it resembles a light show, but in the daytime the variety of stores to shop in will light up your face. This site is highly recommended, you will absolutely love it!
The Empire State Building was built in 1931 in just 410 days, which to me alone would be a great reason to visit it. This skyscraper was the tallest in the world for half a century. You'll get a great view of the city from the art deco tower's observation deck.
Who would think that New York City which is filled with many people, plenty of traffic and skyscrapers, could offer visitors such an incredible natural place to relax in. The park is full of rolling meadows, trees, water bodies and stone bridges. Do you want to hear the best part about it…….it's all free. You can sunbathe on Sheep's Meadow, stroll through the Shakespeare Garden, play sports on the Great Lawn or climb up to Summit Rock, the highest point in the park. For a fee, you can visit the park's zoo, rent a boat or take a carriage ride through the park.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a well known art museum in New York City, which is also known as the Met. The museum houses over two million works of art ranging from Egyptian to Medieval to 20th Century. Now you may have read all these great things about New York and different places to visit on a tour, as well as a few activities to try out while in New York City, but you may be thinking, “ How will I get to tour this humongous city?” Well, the answer is quite simple….. on a tour bus! A tour bus is better than using your own car or walking in many different ways. In a tour bus there is less stress trying to figure out how you are going to park because you are not driving, so automatically there shouldn’t be any worries on your end. New York City is so big and busy parking is a definite problem. Tour buses move nice and slow so that you can enjoy what you are seeing while riding along, and stay longer at your stops when you stop to tour a specific place like The Guggenheim Museu. You don’t have to worry about buying gas with these ridiculous gas prices because again you are not driving, so it isn’t your responsibility. Last, but not least if you use a tour bus you don’t have to worry about paying tolls because….. Hey you’re good, you don’t have to pay!
