Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park
The Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is located at Incline Village, and can be reached by phone at 775-831-0494. The State Park offers a number of different areas that visitors can enjoy. Sand Harbor is the most popular, including sandy beaches, boat launching, and group use facilities. Memorial Point and Hidden Beach, which are situated between Incline Village and Sand Harbor are areas which offer spectacular views of the lake and more secluded access to the lake's shores.
Spooner lake is a popular place for picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing (which is catch and release) and skiing. There is a group use area here as well, and rental cabins are available. All picnic areas are equipped with picnic tables and barbeque grills for visitors to use. Spooner Lake is also a trailhead, with access to the backcountry. This backcountry, between Lake Tahoe and Carson City, provides miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails, as well as two primitive campsites. There are no vehicles permitted in this backcountry area, which covers 13,000 acres within the Carson Range area of the park.
The two more popular trails in the area are the Flume Trail, which is above Sand Harbor, and the Tahoe Rim Trail, which is located along the crest of the Carson Range. There is an entrance fee charged to enter the park, as well as an additional fee for launching boats, and the current fees are posted at the park's entrance.
