Omaha Zoo
The Omaha Zoo is a fun and exciting place for the whole family to visit. The zoo focuses on education and conservation. The facilities within the zoo have a lot of innovative facilities designed not just to preserve a wide array of species, but they also aim to present them in a natural manner to the public.
Within the Omaha zoo, you will find the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Pavillion, the Lozier IMAX Theater, and the Cat Complex, all of which showcase fascinating animal life and exotic places. You can also see the Scott Aquarium, Desert Dome, Lied Jungle, Hubbard Gorilla Valley, and the Hubbard Orangutan Forest, which provide impressive environments that show these beautiful creatures in their natural habitats. The Omaha Zoo covers 130 acres, and has 15 major animal habitats. They manage over 17,000 specimens, which represent 962 species. You will see over 180 species of mammals, more than 275 species of birds, and over 300 species of amphibians, fish, reptiles, and invertebrates.
You will also be able to take a wild ride on the Wildlife Safari. You can spot bison, elk, cranes, antelope, and many other North American native animals right outside the bus window. Before you end the expedition, you can circle through the Sacred Hoop Garden and witness the wild flowers growing throughout the season. You can drop by the aviary to see a swift fix, bobcat, pheasants, sea gulls, and more!
