Landis Valley Museum
You may already know that there are all kinds of great things to see when you are in Lancaster, however, you may not have heard about the Landis Valley Museum. This is a wonderful place that you will find right on 2451 Kissel Hill Road. Surely, you and your entire family or charter bus group are going to enjoy a visit to this incredible living history museum. There are all kinds of interesting exhibits and plenty of hands on activities that everyone can enjoy. This is also a fantastic way to learn all about the wonderful German heritage from the area, including culture, materials, history and more.
While you are walking around at the Landis Valley Museum, you may almost feel as though you have traveled back in time. All of the surroundings are made to feel as though you are living back in the days of some of the settlers. You can hear all sorts of interesting stories and see how they lived and worked so many years ago. It is quite an amazing experience to be able to see tools, furnishings and other artifacts from the early time periods.
The hours of operation are from 9:00AM until 5:00PM Monday through Saturday and then 12:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday. There are regular closings on some of the major national holidays. The cost of admission is only $9 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $6 for kids ages 6 through 17 and free for children under the age of 6. Be sure that you bring along some extra spending money so that you can do a little bit of shopping at The Weathervane, the museum store on the premises.
