Go Wild in Alexandria
The City of Alexandria Zoo isn't the largest zoo you'll ever visit on a tour bus trip but it is a very well done zoo that has around 500 animals that come from all over the world from Africa to Asia and Australia; also South America and North America. Your tour bus group will also have the chance to see 20 endangered species.
The animals in the zoo are housed in exhibits that are recreated to resemble their natural habitats. The zoo is on over 30 well shaded acres and it's a great way to spend an afternoon with your tour bus group leisurely walking and viewing the impressive displays. There are special exhibits such as the award-winning Louisiana Habitat Exhibit which highlights Louisiana wildlife such from the humble catfish to the well known bayou dwelling American alligator.
The Palms Cafe is a great place to stop and get something to eat if your tour bus group gets hungry. They offer a full menu of enjoyable luncheon items such as soups, sandwiches, salads and burgers all made to order.
The zoo is open seven days a week from 9AM to 5PM and is only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. If your tour bus group is planning a visit to this area, call ahead at (318) 473-1143 and find out if there are any special events or educational programs offered at the time of your planned visit as a large variety of events and activities are hosted at the zoo throughout the year.
