Ford's Theatre (Washington DC)

Ford's Theatre Washington DCI heard a lot of Ford’s Theatre before I finally had the chance to visit the place. I mean, having been to Washington DC for countless times for charter bus trips…one after another, it never occurred to me. For the benefit of foreigners reading this blog entry, Ford’s Theatre is literally legendary and if you’re ever on a charter bus holiday in Washington DC, you’ll just HAVE TO stop the tour bus here for a short visit. This is where Abraham Lincoln was to create history and Washington DC’s Ford Theatre opened only 4 years before Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. Over the years, this Washington DC charter bus holiday destination underwent the ‘knife’ and it’s as close to it’s original appearance as you can ever imagine!
Make a Washington DC charter bus stop here for the history and the plays that they hold. It’s really quite an amazing experience, to tell you the truth. For history, go to the basement where there’s a museum displaying the many artifacts relating to the assassination of one of the country’s most respectable public figures! Lots of artifacts from the time Abraham Lincoln was alive too. What an eye-opener this will be, I promise you. Even if you’re not a fan of or is as much a fan of US history as you are of root canal, this Washington DC is worth a charter bus stop.

That aside, I feel that this Washington DC attraction is worth a charter bus stop because it feels completely different standing in a room that you know an icon has been in. it’s just different, you know. We’ve learnt everything there is to learn about Abraham Lincoln’s life and assassination but it’s different just sitting (or standing) there knowing that he has been in the same place and takes pride in this Washington DC attraction. And besides, they regularly hold really good plays here. It’s not a big place so I reckon you’d be done with it in no time. Once you’re done visiting this Washington DC charter bus attraction, head on over to Peterson House which is just right across. And there’s also a neat little tree house that the kids will love to explore.

As an attraction, it’s nothing to shout about, really but it’s just the feeling of being there. So, the next time you rent a Washington DC charter bus to Washington, take the tour bus to Ford’s Theatre for a quick look-around. Admission is free. Ford’s Theatre Washington DC is located at 511 10th Street North West, Washington, DC 20004-1402. For tickets, call +1 202 347 4833, or email onstage@fordstheatre.org. For detailed info, visit their website at www.fordstheatre.org. This Washington DC charter bus attraction is open every day of the week from 9am till 5pm.
