Harriet Beecher Stowe House (Hartford Connecticut)

I grew up with books and one of my favorite books of all time is Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Hence, when I got the chance to rent a charter bus to Hartford Connecticut for a quick weekend visit, I made sure I scheduled in some time to visit the Harriet Beecher Stowe’s House. Although it’s not the kind of place where you can find tourists pouring out of rented Harford CT charter buses, it’s worth a visit if you love her books and her personality….it’s enchanting, I promise you. As I stepped inside the house during my Hartford rental charter bus visit, I felt like I was sucked into a surreal world of the past. Apparently, in 1873 Harriet Beecher Stowe bought this modest little cottage, she spent a lot of time working on her books and gardens. She loved Victorian stuff, and this is an apparent fact when you visit this Hartford CT tourist attraction. The author stayed there with her twin daughters till her death, so it’s a really significant place in Hartford for me.

I loved the first floor which is the older version of our living room. The décor did not take on inspiration from any particular era even though the author was almost obsessed with the Victorian era. The Hartford CT rental charter bus attraction’s got lots of heirlooms inside of it, with paintings and also souvenirs from many parts of the world. The living room, the design is clearly telling, is where the Harriet Beecher Stowe spent time entertaining her guests and maybe sit down with her favorite book and tea.

What’s even lovelier is the dining room! Absolutely love it and after my Hartford Connecticut rental charter bus visit here, I got a sudden surge of inspiration to redecorate my own dingy little apartment. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can afford all the pinewood kitchen fixtures like those in the Hartford attraction. But love the doors and window casings…very Victorian. What made my Hartford charter bus visit here memorable is that the author designed and decorated the place herself and when you visit the place, it gives you an insight to what she likes during her lifetime. Love her or not, it’s a great place to spend a couple of hours.

If you’re ready to be enchanted by this charming and lovely author, Harriet Beecher Stowe, rent a Hartford CT charter bus for a visit. Get their tour packages to tour other nearby historical homes like the Katherine Seymour Day House and the Victorian Gardens. For Hartford CT rental charter bus, call 1-800-359-5991 right now!
