Give a punch to the trip by going to “The Fist” which is the impressive
forearm of Joe Louis encapsulated in blackened bronze and punching into
the Detroit River. There is also a 26-foot tall sculpture of the Spirit
of Detroit in downtown Detroit. This is the spirit of Detroit!
The Michigan Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument Association was erected in
1865 in honor of the sailors and soldiers who had lost their lives in
the Civil War. The 450-seat Gem Theatre is a 5.5 million pound
structure which is the largest structure to be moved five blocks on
wheels! Fisher Building houses more than 40 types of exotic marbles on
the walls, floors and ceilings of the building. This building houses
shops, cafes, offices and the Fisher Theater.
There are various museums for one to move on to in the comfort of the

recreation areas in Detroit. Bald Mountain recreation area has 11 lakes
and 2 trout streams with tons of open space for hiking, biking and

recreation area which has the best mountain biking and equestrian
trails in Michigan. There are campgrounds, beaches and hiking trails to
