Bushnell Park Carousel (Hartford CT)

While Disneyland gives you modern technology and fancy rides, what they seriously lack, Bushnell Park Carousel can provide you. This is THE place to be if you’re really into Carousels! There are superb merry-go-rounds and each of them is as historical as they are breathtaking! I absolutely fell in love with the place the moment my Hartford CT charter bus rolled into this place. All lined up in a row, inviting and calling out to me – I felt like the child in me was finally waking up. I looked around me and saw the delightful faces of children all caught up in their own rides and finally understood what it means to connect with the child within you.

The park is basically lined up in rows, right around three to four rows of rides, and if you looked at it that way, it’s really nothing much but seriously, it was like a childhood dream come true! These are antiques we’re talking about because the wooden carousels were designed and built way back in 1914 by Stein and Goldstein. And in fact, there aren’t many of these operating in the country.

We took plenty of pictures during that Hartford CT charter bus rental visit and one night is definitely not enough and yes, I’d be going back for more. All around Bushnell, there’s lots of space for the kids to play in and I can tell that parents there were completely relaxed while the kids played. I can only imagine what it would have been like if I had been here during summer time….

We were lucky, we were told, that we didn’t organize our Harford CT charter bus rental vacation during peak time or when there was an event going on because it can get very crowded. We had all the space we can ever wish for and could ride all those fancy-looking horses the names of which I can never remember, again and again and again. I can imagine myself as a little girl again, immersed in a world where there are castles, horses and carriages, chariots and….of course, knights!

When we were there, there was a Harford CT charter bus of people who came out and they appeared to be celebrating someone’s birthday. What a wonderful idea! Bushnell is the perfectly magical place to have a child’s birthday – much better than at McDonalds, as far as I can tell. Most importantly, it doesn’t cost as much. Each ride is at $1 each (at the time when I was there) and there was popcorn the whole night through.

For once, I was actually rather interested in the information they provided about the carousel and spent some time reading up on these horses. What can I say? It was enchanting!

Book yourself a Harford CT charter bus rental package and head on over to Bushnell Park Carousel. I promise you, you won’t regret it.
