Istanbul Grill & Deli - Houston, Texas

For Turkish food in Houston, all you have to do is to make a quick bus tour stop at Istanbul Grill & Deli. For most parts, most of their dishes are authentic stuff…as in, this is what you’re going to get if you eat in Istanbul. But granted, most of the customers are Americans or foreigners on bus tour holidays in Houston, therefore, some of the dishes have been modified to suit the market. But not terribly so, though. You will still be eating authentic Turkish food when you make a bus tour stop here. The atmosphere is nice without getting too noisy and the décor is fabulous too.

This is the only Turkish restaurant in Rice Village. Charming is one word we would use to describe this Houston restaurant and that is why a lot of people on bus tours make a stop here. One of the biggest worries about eating in a foreign food restaurant is being clueless about what order, sitting there staring at the menu for ages. The staff here is all ears if you have questions to ask them about what food to order – which says a lot about their customer service.

Be warned that this is a popular Turkish restaurant for foreign visitors, therefore, if you spot tour buses outside, you know there’s going be a crowd. Therefore, don’t wait for your stomach to growl before heading on over. On those days, you can either takeaway (recommended) or call in advance to book a table. The pricing is reasonable and if you want to do a little bit of people-watching, sit outside when they open up some tables outside.

When you make a bus tour stop at this Houston bus tour dining destination, be sure to try their Manti, Doner Kebab, Baklava, Chai (tea) and Eggplant Pizza. If you don’t know what to order in this Houston restaurant, get one of the staff to clue you in.

If you’re ready to spice up your Houston bus tour holiday trip with genuine Turkish food, take the tour bus to Istanbul Grill & Deli at 5613 Morningside

Houston, TX 77005-3218. Call ahead by dialing +1 713 526 2800 or try emailing zubeyir@pdq.net. Istanbul Grill & Deli is closed on Mondays, on other days, they’re open from 10am till 10pm. For more information on this fabulously famous Turkish restaurant, visit www.istanbullgrill.com.
