Skyway Wok (Minneapolis MN)

I’ve always heard about how affordable food is in many parts of Asia; in their words, you get large portion of good (or at least medium portion) for next to nothing! Compared to what we have to pay for good food here, Asia is literally a whole wok itself. Therefore, during one Minneapolis MN charter bus rental holiday trip, we asked the bus driver if he knew of any down, downtown, which served really good food without the big price tag. He did and he drove us straight to Skyway Wok.

I wasn’t too impressed with the way it looked – not when I’ve been to some quite expensive Chinese diners in other parts of the country but it’s not horrendous or anything. Just plain and a little simple. Well, once you’ve stepped past the issue about décor and five-star treatment, you’ll see that this is the place to eat….good food…quickly and cheaply.

You can tell that, based on the location, that they cater mostly for office workers out to get a quick Chinese lunch. So, don’t go there for lunch if you’re not a fan of long lines. We went there off lunch hour, when all the hungry officer workers were back in their cubicles. I chose some items from their buffet which looked absolutely mouth-watering. From the first bite, you can tell that the chef really did tweak the recipe to fit the American palate. But it was still good, mind you, and I thought that they were spiced quite nicely…does not give you a burn on the tongue while maintaining the flavor.

Haven’t we all heard at least one horror story about how totally humorless Chinese restaurant owners can be? Well, I have and it was a surprise to me that bad service wasn’t on the menu and it’s not a part of their brand either. It was just good, solid Chinese food at a fraction of the price. Speaking to one of the staff, I was informed that the menu is always very refreshing because they’ll change the menu from time to time without altering their popular or recommended items. Promotions are always running to introduce new dishes.

Because the price is so low, they don’t let you sign credit cards. Yes, which means, get your cash ready. You are hereby warned. Some famous dishes from Skyway Wok are their sesame chicken, spicy noodle, egg roll and low mien. Those with an issue about space constraints should just resort to take-away.

Get your hands on affordable Minneapolis MN charter bus rental service right now.
