Make no mistake about it....Crocker Art
Museum is not merely for art lovers, it's for anyone who knows how to
appreciate beautiful things. Frankly, everything about Crocker Art
Museum is beautiful – from the exterior of the building to
everything that they have displayed within the walls of this
magnificent, historical building. When we first arrived at Crocker, I
was so impressed that I could not stop taking photos of the building.
Once we hopped off the Sacramento CA charter bus rental vehicle, we
scoured the building and ran around snapping pictures of each other
like little kids in Disneyland.
Of course, we had spent some time
researching the place when we were still on the Sacramento bus; we
googled the name up on our iPhones and found that Crocker Art Museum
was build way back in the 1870s and is the first museum in the west
side of the country. Every single door of the museum was hand-carved
(can't imagine that being done in the modern age that we live in
today).
The admission fee was surprisingly
affordable – we paid less than $10 to get in and once we were, you
can't help but marvel at the sparkling floors...really, they were
quite literally 'sparkling'. If there were points for being the
cleanest building on this side of the country, Crocker Art Museum
would have won it hands down. The art pieces were gorgeous although
we are not your (technically speaking) artsy people. We know there
was the Gold Rush and the Victorian. Of course, it's impossible to
NOT fall in love with the European pieces of art. Totally exquisite.
You can tell that the management spends
a ton of money upkeeping this place and constantly renovating it to
accommodate new paintings...and maybe to keep it from falling apart.
We found out, a little too late, that admission on Sunday mornings
are free of charge. So, organize your trip as such and inform the
Sacramento CA charter bus rental company of your arrangements. This
is a must-visit tourist destination, indeed.
One of my favorite places in Crocker is
the California Room which is a place to learn all about the state.
The grand architecture, the history, the culture, the very core of
history and art combined in this museum makes it one of the most
memorable places that I've visited in Sacramento. I can just imagine
teachers bringing in groups of kids to visit this museum in their
rented Sacramento CA charter bus learning all they can learn about
the place they call home.
Once you're done, grab a couple
souvenirs from their gift shop to remember this place by. But first,
call your favorite http://www.uscoachways.com/
company and get started with the transportation needs.
